Multi-Faceted Processes
Fibeco has spent the better part of 40 years practicing, exploring, and mastering various processes. Fibeco will determine which process works best for your unique projects and will utilize one or many of these processes to accommodate customers. Additionally, we pride ourselves on offering in-house capabilities from the beginning stages of your project to the end.
CNC Machining
Computer numerical control machining is a subtractive manufacturing process. Particularly, preprogrammed computer software dictates the path of the machinery, eliminating material to produce a pattern.
Accordingly, Fibeco utilizes CNC to make patterns and tooling in-house as well as to create 3D foam models to be used for display, photography, and tradeshows.
Rotational Molding
Rotational molding is the transformation of plastics using temperature and rotation. In general, parts are formed when a mold containing resin is heated and cooled meanwhile rotating on one or more axis.
Fibeco uses rotational molding to manufacture production, prototype, and custom parts for our customers.
FDM/3D Printing
Fused deposition modeling, better known as 3D printing , produces physical objects through the build up of successive layers of material.
Fibeco uses FDM to produce functional parts, value added details, and fixtures quickly and accurately. Generally, the parts Fibeco produces with FDM are assembly pieces for larger projects, one off parts, or scaled model parts. Additionally, our general FDM materials include ABS, PC-ABS, and PPSF.
Cast Urethanes & Pressure Castings
Cast urethanes and pressure castings are created when liquid urethane resins are poured into a mold, then pressurized or heated until cured. These parts can be provided in flexible, rigid, or foam materials.
Fibeco uses cast urethanes and pressure castings to simulate thermoplastic and injection molded characteristics. Thus, these parts give customers the same look and feel as a true production part. Urethane castings provide a fast turnaround at a low cost.
Metal Fabrication
Metal fabrication is a value added process in which metal is manipulated through one or more processes.
Fibeco uses metal fabrication processes to build fixtures, frame or repair tooling, cut and form perforated screen, etc. In general, In house metal fabrication allows Fibeco to create components and structures that meet customers’ strength and design requirements.
Composites
Composites manufacturing processes vary depending on the materials used and desired outcome. Furthermore, composites processes utilize fiber reinforcements in combination with resin to create durable parts.
Fibeco uses composites to produce tooling, parts, cooling fixtures, trimming fixtures, foaming fixtures, etc. through various processes.
Materials
Resins used include polyester, vinyl resin ester, and epoxy. Reinforcements used include carbon fiber, kevlar, and fiberglass reinforcements, as well as, epoxy honeycomb, aluminum honeycomb, urethane foam, PVC foam, polyester core mat, and balsa core. Depending on materials and desired outcome, we may use infusion, resin transfer, cold pressure molding, hand lay-up, or vacuum bag processes.
Custom Shipping Containers
Fibeco can engineer custom shipping containers for our customers regardless of size. Furthermore, Fibeco uses various shipping materials such as cardboard boxes, structural supports, wooden crates, and totes ensuring safe transportation.
